Due to circumstances beyond our control, this event has been postponed.  Additional information will be posted when it is available.

Come spend the day with us as we host "Wounded Warriors" from Camp Pendleton to a relaxing day on water.

Skippers & volunteers are requested for a day on the water with "Wounded Warriors".   Skippers would be asked to host a guest and one care giver (or more depending on boat capacity) for a 3-4 hour harbor cruise or sail.

Unlike past years where we have hosted amputees,  This year we have decided to focus on a group which doesn't receive as much attention but is still in need; those dealing with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).

A BBQ on the patio will follow the on water activities.

    Topics/Agenda:
    • Presentation by Catalina Marine Society, an organization that facilitates marine research projects in the Catalina Bight. We’ll explore opportunities to support CMS mission.
    • We have a number of cruises planned this year at ALYC (Dana Point, Alamitos Bay, Cabrillo Beach and especially, Catalina). We may well have some unique occasions to dive in locations around the raft-up areas only accessible by boat. We’ll also talk about the possibility of arranging a tour of the Hyperbaric Chamber at USC/Wrigley during the Blue Water Regatta in September.
    • Do some ‘brain storming’ about arranging other dive trips as members of ALYC
    • Talk about holding periodic meetings with invited speakers relevant to scuba diving
    • One of the participants from Catalina Marine Society is a volunteer diver with the Aquarium of the Pacific. We’ve asked him to share some of the opportunities to volunteer with AOP.
    • Other dive related ideas
If you are interested in joining us please RSVP by via email to Jim Updike (Fleet Captain).

Seating is limited so don’t delay!
