Due to the disagreement between ALYC and Post 291 over the ALYC Bylaws, Post 291 has taken the unilateral action of suspending all activities of ALYC.  Which includes this year's Sail for the Visually Impaired (SVI).

Contrary to popular belief, the SVI is not an ALYC function, rather it is organized and run by the Women's Sailing Association of Orange County (WSA_OC) with a majority of the volunteer support provided by ALYC and facility donation from Post 291.  This suspension placed WSA-OC in the very difficult position of having to reorganize and find a new facility with less than 30 days notice, which was determined to not be practically feasible.  Therefore, WSA-OC has decided to cancel the event for 2018 and will be looking for a new venue in the future.

The real victims of this are the approximately 300 guests, many of whom are veterans from the Long Beach VA, which anticipate this event every year and are surely disappointed.  To them I offer my greatest apologies.
