On May 17th we will be meeting up in the idyllic island town of Avalon. To those that made it our event at Dana Point I say thanks for joining in at what I feel was a fun weekend and to those that couldn't join in here is your chance at redemption. Let's make Avalon bigger and better than any previous cruise.

At Dana Point we had 3 boats rafted up in the West Basin and while we can't build a raft in Avalon we can at least double the number of boats participating, Two boats rafted together on a mooring is permissible in Avalon. Once again Valor will be in attendance and will serve as the focal point for club activities, most likely including our traditional cocktail party, at some point during the weekend. For those coming by boat take a look at the registration list and if you have an open berth ask a member to join you for the weekend. It would be a great way to spend time with a friend or make new ones.

For those taking public transportation please book your hotel reservations early as things tend to fill up. I have some interesting and fun things in mind for the weekend and will provide details in a separate email upon my return. On Sunday I leave for a 9 day cruise in the BVI, a well deserved 9 day break from the rigors of retirement. 

I wish to close this missive with a few requests. First please register on the website so we can tell how many people to expect on which days and weather you will be coming by boat and while you may not be able to berth anyone you can serve as transportation to the Island. An opportunity to load your boat with fellow club members and enjoy a fun crossing.  Secondly, please make sure to vote on May 8th and encourage all your eligible friends and acquaintances to also vote the Reynolds slate. Let's make May 17th a celebration of the ground breaking changes at Post 291.
